We had a fantastic Christmas. We spent time with both Brandon's family in California and mine here in Salt Lake. Both families were a lot of fun. I didn't take any still pictures in California- only tons of videos. I'll post the videos next time. Here is a little peek into our Salt Lake Christmas:
This is what my talented sister, Madelyn, taught me to do:
It's going to be a scarf.
This is how she taught my nieces, Emma (10) and Lily (6) to knit, too:
This is what we did in my mom and dad's back yard:
Emma, Lily, Elly, David and Dan at the bottom.
This is what Jacob looked like the whole time we were out there, mostly:
This is what we did after sledding:
Elly absolutely loved the hot tub! She didn't want to get out. She didn't want anyone to hold her, either. She thought she could just swim around on her own.
This is a picture of the oldest Fowles cousin and the youngest:
This is...three sisters:
This is Elly on Christmas morning in her Christmas jammies with her fake smile:

Signs
When Elly was little, we taught her some signs using a video. It turns out that she picked up a lot of signs from the video that we didn't even know. She still remembers almost all of them...

Christmas Tree Dance
Our girl loves to dance. This particular time, there is no music to accompany her. (Usually, she requests "Hello Seattle" by Owl City.)
Christmas Tree Land
Before we went to pick out our Christmas Tree on Saturday, Brandon ran into Walmart to buy a stand for it while Elly and I stayed in the car. When she asked where he went, I told her "to get a Christmas tree stand". I guess she didn't hear me right because from then on, she kept asking to go to Christmas Tree Land. So...we went to Christmas Tree Land:
Then, we came home and put all the decorations and lights on the tree:
And, voila! It is beautiful! (And then we had a little treat.)

Menchiladas
Please ignore her nakedness in these videos, but they were too cute not to post. I make enchiladas for dinner sometimes, and somehow in Elly's mind this Mexican favorite was turned into "MENchiladas". More reading aloud...
