The Wheels on the Bus

It seems the only time we can get Elly to stay in one place to perform is in the bathtub (sink), so here's another bathtime song:

Oh, Utah

This picture wasn't actually taken in Utah, it was taken when Keri came to visit us here in Visalia- but I didn't have any of Elly and Keri on this trip. Plus, don't they look awesome in their sunglasses?

Elly was really excited about seeing the airplane...not too excited about getting on it, however. She actually did really well the whole flight (good thing it's only an hour and 20 minutes, though). The landing was pretty rough on all of us...

Elly had to take a little time to rest after our bumpy landing...so did I.

When we got to Utah, Elly had a great time getting re-acquainted with her Fowles cousins...

She loved riding in the Brazilian Hammock with Jacob!

She really liked David! Especially since he paid her a lot of attention.

Daniel was always ready to give Elly a big hug and kiss. She liked it sometimes, and sometimes...not so much.

On the 4th of July, we headed up to the family cabin in Brighton, UT. Elly found this flag there and adopted it for her very own patriotic prop for the trip. She kept it right by her carseat the entire trip and enjoyed waving it from time to time for the entertainment of those in the car with her.

See how much she loves it? Daddy doesn't look too thrilled, and I'm pretty sure that's because he had just realized how many mosquitos would be biting him for the remainder of the evening.

Our cabin is one hundred percent awesome, complete with 1960s style kitchen (actually built in the 1960s)...

...and some killer decor from the same era. The cabin itself was really built in like the 1700s or something close to that. But, we think it's amazing and we love it.

Elly was really enjoying the ride on the tandem swing with Jacob (aside from K-ma having to hold onto her shirt, so she didn't slip off),

until Dan decided to get on and ruin the fun. Look at that stink eye from Elly. Ouch. I don't think he noticed, though.

This family portrait is astonishing, isn't it? At least Brandon looks pretty good. Nice hair, Elly.

This is the beautiful Silver Lake, a hop, skip, and a jump from the cabin. We took a short walk around the lake and back, which was breathtaking, the only downside was that Elly refused to be carried and wanted to walk the entire way.

It was a very SLOW walk, needless to say.

At least the children in the walking party had a great time.

I got pretty sick while we were in Utah with a crazy summer head cold (what is the deal with those, anyway? summer...cold...?) So, thankfully, my parents were more than willing to take Elly to their house for some bonding time. She loved going to church with K-ma and Doc. K-ma proudly showed her off and stayed with her in nursery the whole time, while Doc continued corrupting her by teaching her how to run up and down the ramps at the Yale building during Sacrament Meeting. (Thanks, Dad!)

When I was finally feeling better, it was time for some shopping.

Elly adored this couch at Downeast, but somehow, I feel like we should get a nice leather sofa for our living room before we get one for our 1 year old.

Nielson's Frozen Custard is an absolute must for me in Utah, and this time we introduced it to Elly.

It is definitely going to be a must for her now, too. (More corruption with introduction to more fattening, sugary foods.)

We felt like Elly was being dragged around a bit, so we took some time out of our shopping schedule to let her play at the park.

We were very disappointed with this particular park for their lack of baby swings and we really didn't want to get in the car and go to a different park, altogether...so our problem solving aunt Keri, created this baby swing adaptation with my belt:

Hooray for Utah...we loved it and we are excited for the move...here we come...in like three weeks!

We're Gonna Rock This Town...

I have the coolest wife ever. Last week Lacy threw me a Rock Band birthday party. I know it sounds lame for a 28-year-old to still be having birthday parties with a theme, but it was rad. It all started with this invitation she put together:

Props (yeah, I said "props") to our friend, Chelsea - the master photoshopper, for inspiring the invitation. Lacy also convinced everyone to dress up. Yeah, I know. It sounds super lame for a 28-year-old to be having dress-up theme parties. But again, it was crazy rad.

Those are the photos. We have some videos too. Check out the web album for everything.
